Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-13
Kartafla is a service operated by Machariel OÜ.
Plain-English first-pass terms. Accurate to how the service currently operates; not lawyer-reviewed. Email support@kartafla.com with any question or specific concern.
Who you are contracting with
Kartafla is operated by Machariel OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia (registry code 17573220), registered address Sepapaja tn 6, Tallinn 15551, Estonia(“Machariel”, “we”, “us”). When you use the Service you are contracting with Machariel OÜ, and these terms are the agreement between you and us.
Purchases are a separate matter. Our order process is conducted by Paddle, which acts as an authorised reseller and merchant of record for every order — meaning Paddle, not us, is the seller of the subscription to you. Paddle takes the payment, charges and remits any sales tax or VAT due in your country, issues your invoice, and handles billing queries, refunds, and chargebacks. Your card statement will show Paddle alongside our name. The Paddle company you buy from depends on where you are, and is named in their buyer terms and on your receipt.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
The payment, renewal, and cancellation mechanics of that purchase are governed by Paddle’s buyer terms. Everything about the Service itself — what it does, what you may do with it, and what we owe each other — is governed by the terms on this page.
The service
Kartafla (the Service) is a Generative Engine Optimization platform that monitors how AI search engines — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini — describe your brand, audits your website against the signals those engines read, and generates fixes (robots.txt, schema, content rewrites) to improve your visibility. By using the Service you agree to these terms.
Tiers and billing
- Free: 1 project, 3 questions, ChatGPT only, one on-demand scan. No credit card required.
- Starter ($29/mo), Growth ($99/mo), Agency ($399/mo): see the pricing page for the current capability matrix. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly until you cancel.
- Enterprise: custom contracts arranged via email.
Billing runs through Paddle as merchant of record. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We never see or store your card number — Paddle handles that side of the transaction entirely.
All applicable taxes, including value-added tax (VAT) where required, are calculated, collected, and remitted by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Tax is determined by Paddle based on your location and shown at checkout.
Prices are shown in USD. Paddle may also present your local currency, so the total at checkout can be higher than the headline price once tax is added. The checkout always shows the exact amount before you pay.
Cancellation and refunds
Your subscription is sold by Paddle, which acts as our authorised reseller and merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment and processes refunds to your original payment method.
14-day refund window. You can request a full refund of your most recent payment within 14 days of that payment, for any reason, including simply changing your mind. You do not need to give one.
How to request a refund. Contact Paddle at paddle.net, the buyer portal for every Paddle order, where you can find your invoice and raise a refund. You can also email us at support@kartafla.com and we will pass it on. Refunds are returned to the payment method you paid with, and Paddle issues a credit note for your records.
Cancelling. You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from /subscriptions in your account. No email is required and we do not ask why. When you cancel, you keep access to the paid tier until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you are not billed again after it ends. On a yearly plan that period is the year you paid for; the 14-day window above applies to a yearly payment in the same way as to a monthly one.
Your statutory rights are unaffected by anything above. If the law in your country gives you a stronger right to a refund than this policy does, that law wins.
Also published on its own at /refunds.
Acceptable use
- You may only set up projects for domains you own or are authorised to represent.
- Don't use the Service to scrape, automate against, or attack third-party sites.
- Don't try to break, probe, or reverse-engineer our infrastructure or another customer's data.
- Don't share account credentials. One paid seat per natural person; teams need separate accounts.
Violations are grounds for immediate suspension of access. Your refund rights under the refund policy are unaffected by a suspension.
What we don't promise
AI search engines are non-deterministic. We can't guarantee a specific GEO score, a specific number of mentions, or a specific competitive outcome. We can promise we'll run the scans, surface the issues, and ship the fixes accurately and on time — but the AI engines decide what they say about your brand, not us.
The Service is provided as is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Liability cap
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the fees you've paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — lost revenue, lost rankings, lost opportunities — to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Termination
Either side can terminate at any time. If you cancel, you keep access to the end of the billing period. If we terminate for cause (acceptable-use violation, payment failure beyond grace, or legal obligation), access ends immediately. Termination does not remove any refund you are entitled to under the refund policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes get an email notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after that date counts as acceptance.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and your use of the Kartafla service are governed by the laws of Estonia, and the Estonian courts (Harju County Court, Tallinn) shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
Your purchase itself is a contract with Paddle rather than with us, and is governed by Paddle’s buyer terms and the law they specify. Nothing on this page limits the rights those terms give you against Paddle.
